The founder, John Hudson, formerly creative director at G4 Network and co-founder of Freestyle Collective, has a comprehensive understanding of both television network and design studio philosophies. This translates to in-depth creative collaboration with both the client and studio, from concept development to final delivery. The Royal Pictures studio has the space and capabilities of taking on any project, large or small.

The company was launched in the Fall of 2006 on the west side of Los Angeles.
